Aramco Oil Saudi Arabia - Vessel Marjan is a costal maintenance ship which will be equipped with a full gauging system for 20 tanks containing fuel oils, and Ballast, fresh water, & Wash water. Tankview was selected for this application and runs on a panel mounted flatscreen PC also supplied and configured by PSM. In this case the transmitter signals are routed to two marshalling panels, equipped with zener safety barriers, and data acquisition modules which communicate data to the PC via an RS485 data bus. A stand alone bilge alarm panel directly connected to 8 bilge level switches was also supplied as part of the package. A further order is anticipated for sister Vessel, Ghawar, during its next docking period. Grosvenor Chemicals Huddersfield UK - Another recent chemical tank farm installation using Tankview is in. Grosvenor had an existing pneumatic based system with displays local to each tank but wanted a centralised Graphical display also capable of logging product movement at the start and end of each day for inventory management. In this case PSM Series 500 transmitters were employed as P to I converters to interface with existing equipment. Their 4-20mA output is fed into data acquisition modules which convert the signal to digital format which is then transmitted to the central PC via radio modems. The radio modems are transparent to the loop and Tankview operates as normal. In this particular case they provided tremendous time & cost savings by comparison to the more traditional method of multi-core cabling. In its initial phase the system will cater for 21 tanks, with planned extension to cover up to 70 tanks on the site. |
